John Heinz III College and School of Architecture, Carnegie Mellon University, where she teaches and researches GIS, building information modeling (BIM), computer-aided design (CAD), 3D visualization, and infrastructure management.
Wilpen L. Gorr is a professor of public policy and management information systems at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University, where he teaches and researches GIS applications.

I'm told that this book is one of the first ever issued that connects GIS and public health, and therefore is probably due some slack.
The issue I have is the lack of connection between the tutorials and assignments. The tutorials are written in a step-by-step
manner and very easy to follow but the connection between them and the assignments is not clear. I'm often left needing
help with the assignments despite following through and understanding the tutorials. Not sure how to make it better but I am
not the only one in class that is having this problem.

Eliminates the need for a class

Was assigned this book for class. In short, it eliminated the need for my professor. The book walks you through step-by-step for using ArcMAP. Any questions the book does not answer can be easily found on the ESRI FAQs or Google.
