A Must Read!!!!

I am not one to usually review a book but this will be one of my few exceptions. I could not put it down once I started and cried twice. I must disclaim that I am a mother of 4 and have also been a foster mother as well...and would strongly suggest this to any woman that I know. It was witty and heart wrenching (I cried twice)and told a story that often goes untold but must be put out there. A truthful look in to what it takes to be a mother no matter how you get your baby- opening your heart to love.
I strongly urge social workers, potential and current foster families,or mothers with children in the system to read this with an open mind to see the other side of the story and the strength it takes to be a woman in any situation. Because with a clear mind there's only one thing that matters- raising a child with love.
Looking forward to Daffodils next book!

Highly Recommend!

I so admire the honesty of the author. She lets us into the sometimes heartbreaking world of foster care, adoption, and motherhood, and doesn't sugarcoat the struggles and difficulties. Somehow she manages to do that while still maintaining a sense of humor, about herself as well as the process. The writing is wonderful, the story is all too familiar to so many of us, and this is exactly the type of book that I am drawn to---the ones where the writers expose their vulnerabilities and flaws, because it reminds me of our shared humanity. I would highly recommend this book to any memoir fans.

a beautiful story~

A page turning read that will captivate you whether or not your are a parent of any kind. A heart wrenching and heart warming account that gives the reader a true insight into the personal lives of foster families and the sacrifices they make to help a child have a better shot at a hopefully better life. I found myself amazed, impressed and at times in awe of the author's tales of being a foster mom and of becoming a birth mom. Her story is unique. Well written with many heart tugging chapters and funny candid prose.
